What Makes HobaCare Jojoba Different?

Our customers tell us that they can tell a difference between our quality jojoba oil and other brands of jojoba. What makes ours better? For the past 20 years, our focus has always been on quality. We continually work with our growers and processors to make sure our jojoba meets our exacting standards. When you try our jojoba you will notice a difference, it goes on smoothly, has only a slightly nutty smell, and it absorbs quickly into the skin leaving no tacky residue.

Our jojoba is First Press quality. The pressing is a light pressing, thus resulting in less quantity, but a higher quality product. This is the main reason you can see, feel, and smell the difference between our jojoba and others. A light pressing yields only about 38% jojoba from the seed, where some forms of pressing will yield up to around 50%. Some producers also use solvents to extract more jojoba from the seed. This results in more jojoba, but a much lower quality jojoba. The result is a beautifully golden product that retains its natural beneficial properties and benefits for the skin. Some processors deodorize their jojoba to remove the smell and strip it of its natural color. We never do this, which you can see from the naturally golden color of our product. Our quality jojoba oil is pure. The only thing we do is filter the jojoba through a one micron filter. This removes any residual solids from the pressing process.

The Jojoba Company is a small business with only a few employees. We are able to work closely with our growers and processors to ensure a consistently high-quality product. We also pay close attention to detail when bottling the product, which we do here in Washington, Maine. Each bottle is filled and labeled by hand, each order is packaged by hand. We pay close attention to the quality of the jojoba oil throughout the process and are happy that our customers can tell the difference both in the quality of the product and the quality of customer service.

The Jojoba Company offers 2 types of jojoba: 100% certified organic jojoba and pesticide free jojoba. With our certified organic jojoba, we are committed to going above and beyond the 95% organic standards put forth by the USDA. In our 100% certified organic jojoba, no chemicals are used, none. No pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides are used in our certified organic or non-organic product. Our pesticide free jojoba uses commercial fertilizers during growth, or it may come from fields that are in transition to organic (a process which takes 3 years).

The results of all of our hard work are evident. You can see, smell, and feel the difference in our jojoba. Our jojoba is pure and naturally non-allergenic. It’s safe to use on newborns and is beneficial for all skin types. It doesn’t clog the pores and absorbs quickly, leaving no tacky residue. Jojoba is for everyone!

Here in the office, we all use jojoba in different ways. Our employees use it for daily face care, make-up removal, shaving, baby skin care, cat care, aromatherapy, and our two volunteer firefighters use it to keep their hands from drying out. There are other uses besides personal care, the interior timbers of our barn are treated with jojoba, we use jojoba on squeaky hinges, to polish our shoes, preserve wooden plant labels, and the rags used to wipe up any jojoba spills during filling are used to start winter fires in the wood stoves of employees. We feel good knowing that the product we sell is pure, natural, and the best it can be.
